Will Lifting Weights Make Me Bulky?
The better questions would be “how can lifting weights make me bulky” or “how can I avoid getting bulky when lifting weights”. The answer to both of those questions lies not merely in the sets, reps, load, or tempo you utilize but in how you fuel your body. Are you eating more calories than your body expends energy? If the answer is yes, then you are more likely than not to gain weight. If you eat in a caloric deficit (less calories in than you expend) then you are more likely to lose weight. Genetics and macro nutrient ratios come into play as well to some extent, but everyone and anyone can lose or gain weight by measuring the amount of food they eat and adjusting for the desired goal. Weightlifting is the tool but the outcome is dictated by the fuel.
