Expectations vs. Intentions
Expectations vs. Intentions
Expectations are great but we want to learn to be flexible while keeping your intentions. Something I believe a lot of women deal with is the expectations of what will happen when they get pregnant. My expectations were to be really active throughout my pregnancy. I thought I could keep my schedule of working out 3 – 5 times a week.
The reality set in that my body wanted so much more sleep. I was able to maybe pull off 2 – 3 days a week in the beginning. This is because my routine was to get up before work and go to my gym class at 5:30am. After work, I would coach 2 – 3 classes a week. With my crazy schedule, it was hard to find time to workout when I didn’t go into the gym before work. Some days, I had to workout from home after work or I skipped a day. I’ve had to readjust my expectations while keeping my original intentions to stay active. It may not be what I wanted or what I thought but I stuck to my goals. I stayed active the whole pregnancy.
Whether you are pregnant or just starting a new goal or healthy lifestyle change. It is up to you to keep your expectations in check and remember to be flexible while keeping your original intentions. Life can get crazy but don’t let it stop you in your tracks!
