May Your Weights go Up & Your Times go Down

The Holiday season is upon us! Thanksgiving has passed, and Christmas is fast approaching. Another year is winding down, and the next is on the horizon. Now is the time to assess the goals you set for this year, and see how much progress you made. Ask yourself these 5 simple questions.

1.) Did you accomplish those goals you set out to reach at the beginning of the year?

SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time-bound) goal setting concept presented on blackboard with colorful crumpled sticky notes and white chalk handwriting

2.) Which ones did you hit?

3.) Which ones did you fall short on, and why?

4.) Were they too lofty?

5.) Did you put the proper time and focus into achieving them?

Answering these questions honestly will also help you to set goals for the upcoming year. As coaches, we want to do all that we can to help you accomplish all your goals. I encourage each one of you to take some time with your Coach for Life, & brainstorm some short and long-term goals for 2017. Write them down, put them in a place where you will see them each and every day. That could be the refrigerator, the bathroom mirror, or the dashboard of your car. We need to have them on the forefront of our mind so they stay relevant and remembered; look at them often.

Next is coming up with a plan of action to moving closer to those goals. Your coach will also be able to help you with this. Whether it be a specific mobility routine to address those movement restrictions you have,  an add-on strength program to help the weak areas in your fitness, or a custom-tailored nutrition plan, a once-a-month check-in with your Coach for Life can go a long, long way in making those goals an achievable reality.

To get started, simply write some goals down for yourself. Aim high and think outside the box. Approach us with your list of goals, and we can formulate a plan together towards achievement. Before you know it, you’ll be checking those goals off the list, and setting new ones for yourself! Let’s move into 2017 with some momentum. In this new year I want to see your PR’s go up, and your MetCon times go down. With a little direction, and motivation we can make it happen together!
